The Grumpy Baker began when Hannah Turner found a new direction after redundancy. In the decade since, the Moorland Road counter has become part of the everyday fabric of Oldfield Park: hand-made cakes and cookies, coffee, and a small, changing brunch-style lunch offer.

Featured by Somerset Live in 2026, the bakery is set to mark ten years in business that October. It remains a place for something sweet, something warming, or simply a familiar hello on the way home.
